Who is CAERC?
The Capital Adult Education Regional Consortium (CAERC) consists of fourteen members including eleven school districts, two county offices of education and one community college district and its four colleges. CAERC partners include other adult education stakeholders throughout the region.
Funding
CAERC is funded through the California Adult Education Program (CAEP), a joint partnership between the California Community College Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) and the California Department of Education (CDE). CAEP funds support courses for adults in seven program areas:
- English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL)
- Adult Basic and Secondary Education (ABE/ASE)
- Career and Technical Education (CTE)
- Workforce Preparation
- Pre-Apprenticeship
- Adults Training for Child School Success
- Adults with Disabilities
Regional Priorities
The work of the consortium addresses four Regional Priorities:
